Dr Cherie Castaing MBChB(NZ),FRACGP
Dr. Cherie Castaing is a passionate and dedicated GP with over 20 years of experience providing personalised care to women on the Central Coast. With a special interest in menopause and perimenopause and weight management, Cherie is committed to empowering women through up-to-date, evidence-based information and a collaborative approach to their health. A graduate of Otago Medical School in New Zealand (1994), Cherie gained a diploma in obstetrics and gynaecology whilst training at Gosford Hospital. She is an experienced specialist GP with FRACGP fellowship and more recently completed further training with Jean Hales and Newson Health.
As a member of the Australian Menopause Society, Cherie combines expertise with authenticity, ensuring women feel heard, supported, and confident in their health decisions. Her Breadth of experience over the health lifespan and in mental health has taught her to take a holistic approach to optimise women’s healthcare.
“I love general practice but I’m excited to have the longer consultation time to focus on each woman’s unique health story and wishes, and help them feel like themselves again” Dr. Castaing is a mother of three and an active member of the Macmasters Beach community, where she volunteers at the surf club on Friday nights. Passionate about the environment, she spends much of her time outdoors, working on rewilding native trees as part of a personal conservation project. Art, creativity and mindfulness are also close to her heart, and she finds inspiration in nature, often exploring the local bushland. Her commitment to her community and the environment reflects a holistic approach to health, as she encourages her patients to embrace balanced, sustainable lifestyles.
Dr Jaimie Rees BPharmHons, MBChB, FRACGP
Dr. Jaimie Rees is a sought-after general practitioner at Saratoga Medical Centre in New South Wales, Australia, known for her expertise and passion in women’s health, particularly in midlife health, perimenopause, and menopause care. With over 12 years of experience, she has a unique background, having first trained as a pharmacist in the UK before becoming a GP. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) in the UK.
A member of the Australian Menopause Society and the International Menopause Society, Dr. Rees is dedicated to advancing her knowledge in menopause care. She has completed the Confidence in Menopause course with Newson Health, as well as training offered through the International Menopause Society and Jean Hailes. She recently attended the International Menopause Congress in Melbourne. Dr. Rees is passionate about supporting women through midlife, helping them take control of their health and empowering them with the information needed to make choices that optimize health span and overall well-being.
With a patient-centred approach, Dr. Rees offers both hormonal and non-hormonal options, focusing on how lifestyle changes can positively impact the trajectory of a woman’s health. She believes in the power of education, knowledge, and choice, aiming to support her patients in achieving a vibrant and healthy life throughout midlife and beyond.
Originally from Wales, Dr. Rees has called Australia home for the past 10 years, living with her husband and their four children. As a busy working mum, she embraces the midlife journey alongside her patients, bringing both professional expertise and lived experience to her practice. Outside of work, she finds balance and energy in activities like running, yoga, and gym workouts, and she enjoys the tranquillity of ocean sunrises to stay grounded and revitalized.
Dr. Rees is deeply connected to her community, volunteering at her local surf club and in the uniform shop, and she loves spending time with family and friends. Whether cheering on her kids at sports events, gathering with her book club, or enjoying concerts and musicals, Dr. Rees believes in a well-rounded, active lifestyle that nourishes both body and mind.
